Soldiers Sailors Airmen and Families Association Forces Help (SSAFA) offer assistance and information to veterans on housing issues.

Other practical help is available from the Homelessness Directorate and Single Persons Accommodation Centre for ex-Services websites.

There are approximately 1800 ex-Service charities that give assistance in varying degrees to veterans and their dependants in the UK and world-wide. Age Concern - Care for the elderly

Citizens Advice Bureau - Offers free, confidential, impartial and independent advice.

Samaritans - Providing 24-hour support to the suicidal and despairing.
There are a number of service organisations that specialise in assisting those suffering from the effects of trauma and distress.

Combat Stress - Specialises in providing help to the Armed Forces who suffer from psychiatric problems attributable to or aggravated by service.
