FORCES CHILDREN'S TRUST
To help a child is an honour
Founded five years ago, the Forces Children’s Trust (FCT) provides support to children whose father or mother has died, or has been seriously injured, while serving as a member of HM Armed Forces.
The
Trust works in partnership with families, charities and Service associations
to provide help and support to these children and their families. Among its
many areas of assistance, the Trust regularly organises educational and social
events where children can meet others in similar circumstances.
In the past this support has consisted of theatre
trips, a surprise visit to Lapland and providing a group of bereaved families
a much-needed break in Portugal, courtesy of the Crown Foundation and the
FCT.
It does recognise, however, that each child is
special and unique, so if a child requires help not provided directly by
the Trust, such as professional psychological help, then it can assist financially
where appropriate.
