RAF BENEVOLENT FUND DONATES TO SPINAL INJURIES ASSOCIATION

Paul Hewson, Regional Director for the RAF Benevolent Fund (RAFBF), the RAF’s leading welfare charity, met with representatives of the Spinal Injuries Association (SIA), the leading national charity for spinal cord injured people, on 18th March 2010 to present a donation of £6,000. The presentation took place at the Spinal Injuries Association’s offices in Milton Keynes.

The donation is the latest in a series the RAFBF has made to SIA, stretching back to 1982, and will contribute to the expansion of SIA services which include a Freephone Advice Line, peer support and family support.

Paul Hewson said:

“I am delighted to present this donation on behalf of the RAF Benevolent Fund, which has supported the Spinal Injuries Association’s invaluable work for many years. Working with organizations like SIA helps us to deliver help to RAF family members where it is needed most.”

Paul Smith, Executive Director of the Spinal Injuries Association said:

“We are thrilled that the RAF Benevolent Fund has been able to continue its longstanding support of our work with spinal cord injured people from the RAF and their relatives. This has enabled us to keep providing and developing our much needed services to support individuals as they rebuild their lives after paralysis.”
