Walk the walk and raise funds for Erskine at The Sandwalk 2011
Supporters of the veterans’ charity Erskine are being encouraged to walk the walk to raise funds for the country’s ex-Service men and women.
There is still time to register your place for The Sandwalk 2011 – a five mile sponsored walk along the beach from the north of Aberdeen from Newburgh to Balmedie. The event, which has been running for six years, takes place on Sunday 21st August.
Erskine has been chosen as one of the beneficiaries to receive funds raised on the day, which will be used towards the care of veterans at five homes across Scotland . The other charities to benefit are CLAN, CHAS and Teen Challenge North East Scotland.
Catherine Cowie, Erskine fundraiser, said: “This is a great opportunity for our supporters of all ages in the north of Scotland to show their support for Erskine by taking part in this brilliant event. The Sandwalk has been going strong for six years now providing generous fund for Erskine and three other brilliant charities. You can help make a difference to the lives of the country’s veterans by signing up to this excellent event.”
The Sandwalk 2011 is organised by the Rotary Clubs of Aberdeen, Balgownie and Ellon and is designed to be a fun event for all.
Entrants aged 16 and over are subject to a £5 registration fee. To sign up visit www.thesandwalk.co.uk.
