Attention WWII veterans (and their families) who served in the Netherlands

Every year around May the liberation in 1945 of our country is commemorated with a tribute to those who gave their lives for our freedom. In the Heidehof cemetery in Ughelen, near Apeldoorn, are the graves of 55 airmen of the RAF, RCAF, RNZAF, RAAF,  and 2 of the RASC and the Pioneer Corps. The graves are lovingly tended by the children of a local school and every five years we invite the veterans and the relatives of those who rest so far from home to take part in a special commemoration ceremony. The last time was in 2005 and we plan this ceremony again on 16 April 2010.

We realise that for some veterans it might physically no longer be possible to attend but as for the experience we had in 2005, many relatives would appreciate the opportunity to visit the graves of their brother, father or grandfather. Therefore we cordially invite you to share the ceremony with us on April 16 2010. We sincerely hope that you will be able to attend and we look forward to have you with us to share this ceremony in memory of those we owe so much.
