ERSKINE MINIBUS DONATION
Veterans at The Erskine Home in Bishopton have received a welcome boost to their transport department with a very generous donation of a new minibus from Gourock based Sheila McLeod.
With the help of colleagues from the Gleddoch Golf Club Sheila raised the magnificent amount of £27,800 to purchase the minibus which will prove invaluable to Erskine, the charity who cares for over 1350 ex-Service men and women every year.
Sheila, who started her fundraising venture in March 2010, raised the vital funds through a series of events including a Sportsman’s Dinner at which the Auction raised in the region £10,000.
Sheila said: “I enjoy the challenge of fundraising and am not frightened to ask anyone for money on behalf of those who need it!
Fundraiser Linda O’Malley said: “We can’t thank Sheila and her colleagues enough for this wonderful donation from which our wheelchair bound veterans in particular will benefit.”
