Erskine recruits new trustees for Board
The veterans’ charity Erskine is currently seeking six people to join their Board of Trustees. Although the positions are on a voluntary basis, successful candidates have a rare opportunity to play a vital role in caring for the Armed Forces community.
Erskine is casting the net far and wide to ensure the new Trustees bring a wealth and range of experience to the charity. Over 1300 veterans, of all ages, are cared for by Erskine every year in five specialist homes in Bishopton, Erskine, Glasgow and Edinburgh.
The new Trustees will be expected to contribute by providing oversight and governance as well as experience of their particular field. The charity would ideally like to find people with experience ranging from Clinical Governance, General Management, Property and Estates management, Human Resources and Military experience.
The requirements of the positions include attending quarterly Board Meetings, workshops, seminars and general meetings with the capacity to be flexible.
Executive Chairman Andrew Robertson said: “At Erskine we offer the highest standard of care to former members of our Armed Forces. We are looking for candidates with a range of different backgrounds from all sectors of the community. I want to ensure that the Erskine Board of Trustees is as professional and, at the same time, as diverse as possible and I would encourage anyone with an interest to apply.”
The Trustee positions can be applied for by visiting the Erskine website www.erskine.org.uk or alternatively applicants wishing more information or an informal chat are invited to contact the Human Resource Department on 0141 814 4574.
