RAF BENEVOLENT FUND MAKES SPECIAL DONATION TO ‘NOT FORGOTTEN’ ASSOCIATIONRAF BENEVOLENT FUND MAKES SPECIAL DONATION TO ‘NOT FORGOTTEN’ ASSOCIATION

Air Commodore Paul Hughesdon, Director of Welfare and Policy for the RAF Benevolent Fund (RAFBF), the RAF’s leading welfare charity, met with representatives of the ‘Not Forgotten’ Association, the ex-Service Disabled charity, on 8th February 2010 to present a cheque for £50,000. The presentation took place at Princess Marina House, the RAF Benevolent Fund’s Welfare Break Centre in West Sussex.

The donation was made to help fund the entertainment, recreation and leisure services which the ‘Not Forgotten’ Association provides for serving and ex-serving RAF personnel. Princess Marina House was the location for the presentation due to its long history of work with the ‘Not Forgotten’ Association, which regularly provides entertainment for guests at the break centre.

Paul Hughesdon said:

“I am delighted to present this donation on behalf of the RAF Benevolent Fund, which has supported the ‘Not Forgotten’ Association’s invaluable work for many years. It’s very appropriate that we should meet here at Princess Marina House, which works closely with Association to provide quality entertainment including concerts, excursions and riverboat trips, all of which make a real difference in the lives of our veterans.”

Colonel Steve Rowland-Jones, Director of the ‘Not Forgotten’ Association, said:

“The ‘Not Forgotten’ Association, formed in 1920, sets out to provide recreation and leisure activities for the serving wounded and ex-Service community with disabilities. This grant from the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund is a massive boost to us and will be of enormous help in sustaining our 2010 programme for the benefit of the Royal Air Force family.”
