Dunkirk & D-Day Veterans Annual Cruise on the River Thames 4th September 2011

The annual Association of Dunkirk Little Ships (ADLS) Veterans Cruise (VC) is taking place on the river Thames on Sunday 4 September 2011.

Open to all veterans of the Dunkirk operation and D-Day Landings, the event programme is as follows:

0900 Veterans gather at The Thames Motor Yacht Club (TMYC), Hampton Court. Tea/ Coffee
0945 Veterans embark in ADLS Little Ships
1000 Little Ships depart for Veterans Cruise
1020 Transit East Molesey Lock
1120 Transit Sunbury Lock
1230 Arrive Weybridge Mariners Club, lunch and entertainment
1600 Depart Weybridge Mariners Club, either in vintage cars or by Dunkirk Little Ship (veterans choice), return to TMYC

Veterans may be accompanied by a family member/ carer.

Members of the public can come and offer their support along the route.

There is also an additional event this year, on Saturday 3 September 2011, for veterans from Afghanistan that are currently undergoing rehabilitation at Headley Court Hospital at Epsom. The details for the Saturday event are as follows:

1400 Depart Thames Motor Yacht Club (TMYC), bound for Ash Island , transit of East Molesey Lock at approx 1410 , circuit Ash Island , returning to TMYC at 1630 .
