TROOPS TO SLAM DUNK AT THE O2 

The O2 and the NBA has teamed up with the charity Tickets For Troops to provide tickets to the NBA London Games 2011 presented by Thompson Sport, when the New Jersey Nets will take on the Toronto Raptors on 4th March 2011.   The game is the NBA's first regular-season gameever in Europe . 250 troops will be joining the capacity crowd, feeling the excitement and passion of the NBA that will be on display at The O2. 

Since launching it has provided over 250,000 tickets and almost 85,000 troops have registered on the website - www.ticketsfortroops.org.uk.

Lord Marland, Chairman of Tickets For Troops commented “Tickets For Troops are exceedingly appreciative to The O2 and the NBA for their continued generosity; it is a huge lift to the morale of the troops to have their commitment and dedication recognised in this way.”

Tickets For Troops has generously been supported by a wide range of organisations and has been able to offer free tickets to a huge number of high profile events; recently these have included tickets for The BRITs, Premier League Football and the Victoria and Albert Museum .

This initiative has attracted maximum support from a host of Patrons, including Lawrence Dallaglio, Joanna Lumley and Gary Lineker who said “This is a terrific idea and it’s important that we show respect for what the soldiers are doing out there and the sacrifice they have made”.
