When former Commonwealth countries gained independence from
the UK, their Governments assumed full responsibility for all those who served
in the Armed Forces prior to independence. With the exception of those listed
below, all service records were given over to, and are now administered and
archived by those Governments.
The RAF Disclosures Section require a Subject
Access Request (SAR) form to be completed in order for an ex-Serviceman to access his own
records. If he is deceased, the relevant Certificate
of Kinship needs to
be completed to access the records.
