Trust and Foundation Reception

On Wednesday 12th September The Queen Alexandra Hospital Home hosted a Trust and Foundation Reception for 25 organisations to introduce the work of the Hospital Home to funding bodies and organisations from across the UK.

The Queen Alexandra Hospital Home, is one of only 3 organisations providing a dedicated nursing, residential, rehabilitation home for physically disabled ex-Service personnel in the UK.  The other 2 organisations include The Royal Star and Garter (Richmond) and Erskine (Scotland). The aim of the organization since 1919 has been to help Veterans to live as actively and independently as possible, in a caring, friendly environment they can think of as their home.   The Queen Alexandra Hospital Home accepts any age resident, from any part of the country for both long term residential and short term respite care.

The Reception was hosted by the Vice Chairman, CEO and Trustees and involved  refreshments and lunch sponsored by local company Hearability.  Hearability is a family owned business that is enabling the hard of hearing in Sussex to have access to a wide variety of hearing care services.  As an independent organization, Hearability brings its range of services directly to the public and by working with, and providing services for, tertiary healthcare providers, local hospitals, GPs and the West Sussex Deaf & Hard of Hearing Association.

A tour of the Hospital Home was provided and an opportunity to meet residents, staff and volunteers.  A presentation on the history and service provision was delivered by Vice -Chairman Mr Ian Eady.

All organisations were suitably impressed by the scale and high standard of rehabilitation care provided by The Queen Alexandra Hospital Home, and the Hospital Home hope to hold another Reception in February 2008.

If you are an individual, Corporate or Charitable Trust/Foundation, and would like to attend the Reception in February, please contact Juliet Bell on 01903 218444 or email Juliet-bell@qahh.org.uk for more information.
