How
we helped Mrs Taylor (War Widow)
Mrs
Taylor’s late husband had been in receipt of a War Pension for
hearing loss and it was felt there was little prospect of entitlement
to a War Widow’s Pension. However, a Veterans Welfare Manager
(VWM) visited Mrs Taylor and the circumstances of her husband’s
death were discussed in detail. It was established that his death was
due to a heart condition that could have arisen as a result of his Army
service. With help from her VWM, a claim for a War Widows Pension
and a Funeral Grant was subsequently submitted. The claim
proved successful and War Widows pension was awarded, enabling Mrs Taylor
to continue to live in the family home.
