How we helped Corporal Smith

Lance Corporal Smith fractured his ankle whilst taking part in an exercise.  He submitted a claim under AFCS. Evidence of the incident and medical evidence, showing the severity of the injury, was obtained and provided enough information for an award to be made. If the claim is due to an accident, we will request incident reports. A tax-free lump sum was awarded.  

The majority of AFCS claims are made in service. The individuals concerned will therefore be receiving full pay and receiving medical treatment for their condition.
