What is the Service Personnel and Veterans Agency ?

The Agency – SPVA - (formally Veterans Agency and AFPAA) provides, for the first time, a range of ‘through life’ support functions directly to around 900,000 serving and ex-Service personnel.

SPVA offers the following services to the Armed Forces and Veterans community:

• Pay, allowances and expenses for HM Armed Forces
• Casualty and Compassionate administration via the Joint Casualty and Compassionate Centre (JCCC) – repatriation of those wounded or killed in action and arranging for family members to be flown to those in hospital overseas.
• SPVA manages and operates the Joint Personnel Administration System (JPA) and Joint Personnel Administration Enquiry Centre (JPAC EC)
• Pay and allowance dispute resolution via the Pay and Allowance Casework Cell (PACC)
• Armed Forces Pension Schemes
• Administration of all MOD medals and veterans badges
• All mobilisation and termination administration via the Tri-Service Mobilisation and Termination Cell
• Tri-Service arrangements for the storage of all Wills
• Tri-Service Records of Service
• Armed Forces Compensation Scheme
• War Disablement Pensions
• A nationwide Welfare Service  providing support to Veterans and Widows
• A national free Veterans helpline.
• The Veterans Knowledge Map - an interactive directory of information - employment, money matters and housing - for veterans
