The clinics will be able to help diagnose and offer treatment or its possible to be referred to your local NHS service for some common problems such as:

  • Mood problems (including depression)
  • Anxiety-related conditions
  • Alcohol and Drug misuse
  • Post traumatic stress disorders
  • Personality problems including personality disorders
  • Behavioural problems including anger and violence

Veterans’ can talk to someone in confidence, who will understand the problems people face when they leave the Forces. They will offer advice and support to those who may be suffering from mental health problems related to their time in Service.

How do I get referred?

Veterans who have concerns about their mental health should seek a referral to the Pilot via their GP.  Partners or family members contacting the programme will be advised to encourage the patient to contact their GP or in some cases to register with a GP. Referrals from civilian psychiatric services (such as Combat Stress) are also accepted.
