Future plans
For the longer term, the MOD is working in partnership with four UK Health Departments and a number of Mental Health Trusts to pilot a new community-based model of mental health service for veterans.
The intention is to provide a service for veterans, offering expertise in veterans’ mental health problems across the UK.
This scheme will be piloted in six locations across the UK.
The first pilot at the Staffordshire & Shropshire Foundation Healthcare Trust is now open.
Pilots in Camden & Islington, Cardiff, and Bishop Auckland have also launched,
these will be followed with Cornwall and Scotland.
