Key Roles & Activities:
The Galleries is a supported housing project designed to support ex-Service personnel.
It is made up of thirteen fully furnished self-contained studio flats, each one having living space, fitted kitchen with all essentials and a shower room with WC.
The Galleries has on site supported housing staff throughout the day and evening who are there to assist tenants during the transition from Military to Civilian life.
Aims & objectives of The GALLERIES
- To help reduce homelessness amongst single ex-Service personnel
- To provide a safe, secure and supportive living environment
- To work for the benefit of our clients and help place them into appropriate permanent accommodation
- To build a professional working relationship with those organisations that have historically helped ex-Service personnel
- To work closely with MoD Agencies and services such as SPACES, JSHAO, DKPH, Service Personnel and Veterans Agency and others.
- To value our tenants point of view and encourage them to suggest improvements to the service
- To not discriminate on age, gender, religion or ethnic origin
- To provide a first class professional service at all times

Single Persons Accommodation Centre for the Ex-Services (SPACES)
Key Role & Activities:
SPACES, the Single Persons Accommodation Centre for the Ex-Services is designed to help Service Leavers to find appropriate accommodation when they leave.
Through this service the project reduces the likelihood of ex-Services personnel becoming homeless or sleeping rough after discharge.
SPACES targets the most vulnerable group of Service Leavers; those with less than 6 years’ Service, administrative and medical discharges.
COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
Q Will you help find accommodation for someone who has left the Services?
A If you left during the last 6 months we will work with Agencies
such as SSAFA Forces Help and the Royal British Legion to secure appropriate
accommodation for you.
Q Are you part of the Ministry of Defence?
A No, although we operate within the military environment, we are employed by the Housing Association – English Churches Housing Group, working with the Ministry of Defence
Q Is it a confidential service?
A yes, all information received will be treated in strict confidence
Q Are you just an accommodation placement service?
A Our main aim is to place clients into appropriate accommodation. However, being part of a national housing association we can advise and put clients in touch with a wide range of other specialist agencies
Q Can you help married personnel or single parents?
A All enquiries for married personnel or single parents are routed to the Joint Service Housing Advice Office (JSHAO)
Q Do you give mortgage advice?

Q Do you have your own housing stock?
A SPACES does not manage housing stock although we are part of a National Housing Association, English Churches Housing Group, who own a large number of properties and may be able to offer accommodation
Q Do you find accommodation for personnel going on leave or attending courses?
A SPACES only deals with single personnel who are due to be
discharged and require accommodation

Key role and activities:
St Anne’s is a major provider of supported housing and social care
services in Yorkshire and the North East of England. We provide a range of
accommodation and community based services for people who are homeless, have
mental health issues, substance misuse needs or a learning disability. Details

Specific provision for homeless people:
Leeds
St Anne’s Resource Centre – drop-in day provision, open Sunday to Friday 8.40 am to 4.40 pm. The centre offers: assistance with housing and benefits; meals, laundry and shower facilities, access to primary health care, Open Learning @ St Anne’s
Holdforth Court – resettlement hostel for single homeless men, 36 bed-spaces, referrals can be made through the Resource Centre
Sheffield
Bevin Court – direct access hostel for single homeless
men, 54 bed-spaces, 12 move-on flats and floating support
Outreach & Support Team – working with people who are street homeless
to help them re-settle and provides tenancy support
In addition St Anne’s provides supported housing in Leeds and Kirklees, a residential detoxification and rehabilitation service for alcohol dependent people (Leeds) and a harm reduction service for drug users (Leeds).

Known locally as “The Ark”
Operates a 25 bed direct access hostel with 20 male and 5 female beds.
Meals, showers, laundry and clothing are provided for residents of the Ark.

24 Hours a day, 365 days a year.
There is no referral system. It is suggested applicants phone to ensure there are any vacancies and go to the door at 4pm.
