War Widow/ers Rail cards
War Widow/ers and those in receipt of Armed Forces Compensation Scheme, Survivors Guaranteed Income Payment( SGIP) Benefit aged under 60;
can obtain a Forces Family Railcard through the Royal British Legion Pensions Department. This can be used as a Family Rail Card but you can also travel alone. If you are applying for the first time you must send a signed letter giving the following information:
Your
full name
Your date of birth (DOB)
Full Address
Your National Insurance number
Your deceased spouse’s service number
Also send a passport photo signed on the back
A cheque for £2.50 made payable to ‘Royal British Legion/railcards
Ac.’
Dependent children are also eligible for their own card. (This will be available until the completion of full time education.
Send the above details but also include the child’s full name and DOB, their passport photo and a cheque for £2.50.
Cards can be renewed by sending a cheque for £2.50 together with the non-photo section of the expired card.
