CIPFA/PricewaterhouseCoopers Public
Reporting and Accountibility Awards 2003
The Veterans Agency "displayed an impressive balance between addressing
identifiable clients and stakeholders and offering the wider public details of
their operations and finance.... addressing an age old public task, displaying
in its website and printed materials an admirable concern to assist its clients
through the thickets of bureaucracy and attain their rights." This was the
view of the judges of the 2003
CIPFA/PriceWaterhouseCoopers Public Reporting and Accountability Awards as the
Agency proudly accepted its winner's award in the category
"National Organisations with an annual turnover of less than £50m".
The Awards seek to recognise and promote best practice in public reporting and accountability arrangements across the public services. The emphasis is on how organisations:
- account for the whole of their activities to the public;
- get across what they are there for and what value they bring to the community;
- provide information in a format and style that encourages real public interest in their work.
